ABOUT Me

Hi, I’m Nakita Stone—

I have a deep passion for education. When I’m not coaching or hosting workshops, I am homeschooling my two boys and satisfying my own need for knowledge with new books, online courses, and even returning to college.

I enjoy keeping life simple. As a minimalist, I am currently living my dream of owning a tiny house while enjoying the freedom and community that life in an RV brings to me and my family.

I received my Re-Parenting Coach certification in January of 2025 after seven months of classes, mentorship, and application.

My Coaching Certification

My journey as a conscious parent began seven years ago when my oldest son was born. Just like every new mom’s experience, I was flooded with contradictory, and often unwanted parenting advice that mostly didn’t align with my values. Despite all the advice, I struggled to find parenting and discipline strategies that did align. I spent hours devouring parenting books and researching blogs while breastfeeding. I consistently returned to blogs written by Montessori guides because I was drawn to their belief in respecting children as human beings. When I landed upon Janet Lansbury’s blog, I found practical tools and strategies that called me to take responsibility for my own actions and to understand my child’s experience before rushing in to discipline. I purchased her book “Elevating Childcare: A Guide to Respectful Parenting” and devoured it in a week. I wanted so deeply to respect my children, but I also knew they needed discipline as well. There had to be a balance. But what did that look like?

This desire was only the beginning. It eventually lead me to not only learning how to release control of my child (and other people in general) and parent from a place of presence, but also to re-parent myself.

Eventually, I committed to a 12-week re-parenting course and was coached through it by Ashley Taylor (@ashleytaylor). This expereince began to stitch together all the years of personal research, parenting strategies, and even therapy. I realized that this parenting thing wasn’t just about finding the right strategy. It was about creating secure relationships with my children and myself.

If you haven’t guessed it by now, that 12-week course was so life-transforming that I knew I needed more practice and more information to further integrate. That’s when I decided to get my coaching certification through the Jai Institute of Parenting. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has redirected the course of my life in so many ways, supporting me in finding clarity and purpose.

Today, I find deep fulfillment in giving my clients what my coaches have given me so generously: the expereince of a secure relationship, a non-judgmental space to share and practice, and deep compassion, acceptance, trust and guidance. Meeting with my clients is highlight of my week.
