Week 1: Welcome!
Practice intentions and reflections.
Week 2: Setting Intentions as an Empowered Parent
This week is all about setting intentions for the next 12-weeks by exploring and grounding into your personal strengths and values. Even if you don’t think you have them, you do and I’ll help you discover them.
Week 3: The Ten Pillars of Transformational Parenting
This week is inspired by the writings of Mona Delahooke, author of Beyond Behaviors. Explore behaviorism, and the three types of parenting patterns along with which one you lean toward.
Week 4: Making Sense of Attachment Science
Explore the four attachment styles and your default style. Observe the attachment style you see forming in your child and how to support them.
Week 5: Making Sense of Nervous System Science
In this segment, dive deeper and explore nervous system science. Explore polyvagal theory, the window of tolerance, sensory needs, emotional awareness, calming tools, how to strengthen your vagal nerve, and how to repair after moments of disconnection.
Week 6: Making Sense of Mindsight and Brain Science
This week is inspired by Daniel Siegel, author of “The Power of Showing Up” and “The Whole Brain Child.” Challenge your limiting beliefs. Learn what to expect from your children, developmentally, and tools to meet them where they are at.
Week 7: Making Sense of Emotional Intelligence
Take a deeper look at self-empathy and what that looks like for you.Learn to identify sensations, feelings, needs, and desires as you listen more deeply to your body and inner voice. And, of course, explore how to parent from a place of empathy towards your children.
Week 8: Empowered Conversations
Dive deeper into empowered communication with your children (and other relationships!). Explore your relationship with your voice. Begin to apply the empathy and emotional intelligence you’ve been learning about.
Week 9: Establishing Boundaries from Family Values
Identify your personal and family values. Reflect on how to create parenting limits you feel confident about because they are inspired by your values. Tie more information together and learn how to use it to parent peacefully without permissiveness or authoritarian parenting styles.
Week 10: Anger and Healthy Aggression
Explore your relationship with anger. Learn what healthy aggression looks like for you and your child. Learn how to support yourself through anger and how to support your child through their anger.
Week 11: Playful Parenting and Storytelling
Explore your relationship with play. Discover your play language. Learn the science behind play and how it (or lack of it) affects children, helping them develop and regulate. Learn how to use storytelling to reach your child.
Week 12: Your Personal Transformation
Review your initial intentions. Reflect on what you’ve learned and where you want to grow next as a parent.
