The Fireside Poets
The heart behind the fire is not to create another critique group. The heart is to connect, to use poetry as a means to share our hearts.
A group of poets and poetry lovers who gather at the fireside to share hearts and poems
I’ve returned to this over and over in the last three years—
People don’t need more advice. They need to be seen for who they are. Their stories long to be witnessed.
This has shown up in my parenting and my personal relationships as I’ve shut my mouth and listened before fixing. Where I’ve let go and trusted that the answer was within them—-and it was every time.
This has shown up in my coaching in the same ways. Parents don’t need more parenting advice. They need their experience to be seen. They need to be heard. They need to know that it’s safe to be human.
It shows up here as well, at the fireside, as we share our poems and our hearts.
People are delicate. Stories are sacred. They require slowness. They deserve to be witnessed.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
